RUTS! Here are the ruts from the wagon wheels on the west side of Scotts Bluff. Here again, they were forced to go single file through the 2 rocks. The soil is very sandy, and the ruts have eroded to 4-6 feet deep. While the wagon wheels were on either side, it was really the oxen beating down the middle that makes one big rut.
