We are heading up/down US 5 into LA, we are heading through the clouds in the Tejon Pass. This is also the location of the "Day" wild fire. It is called "Day" since it started on Labor Day (Sept. 2), and here it is 30 days later, and the fire was declared officially contained the day we crossed. So this could be cloud/smoke, although it did not smell smoky. The fire crossed US 5 several times, closing the interstate, and as you drive along there are miles of charred country, most of it straight up and down. There are lots of back hoed fire breaks, most of which obviously did not work. Most of the land is brush, rather than trees.
