Montezuma Castle Feb. 21, 2007

Montezuma's Castle was home to the Sinagua Indians in the 12th and 13th century. It is 5 stories high, 46 feet off the ground and it, like the other dwellings, were mysteriously abandoned. What's the mystery? Only way in was a ladder, up 46 feet- I'm sure the women finally put their foot down. Check out the beautiful Arizona sycamores in the foreground. It was a beautiful spot, shaded, by the creek, but still 46 feet???
