Montezuma's Well, 2-21-07

Montezuma's Well is a few miles from Montezuma's Castle. See the cliff dwellings just above the water? The Well is a 55 foot lake/quarry that the Sinagua used for irrigation. The Spaniards dubbed these 2 Montezuma's, thinking that they were connected to the Aztecs in Mexico. While there is now some thought that they traded that far, the Sinagua were not Aztecs.
