This narrative summarizes the D'Anza expedition. Remember, 2x click to make bigger. D'Anza left Tubac in 1775, with a large group of settlers. He traveled overland to the Los Angeles area, then turned north along the coast and ended up near what is now San Francisco, where he left the settlers to start a new presidio (fort) and a mission. Then he returned to Tubac and then onto Mexico City to report in. This was the equivalent of Lewis and Clark going to the Pacific, back to Washington, DC and then back to the Pacific again- in 2 years. Strange that we have no coins or celebrations for this dude.
